The Telepresence Room at 51 Goes Live
51 Buckingham Gate is the First UK Hotel to introduce Cisco TelePresence
October 15, 2008 - 51 Buckingham Gate, Taj Suites and Residences has today unveiled its Telepresence public room making it the first European hotel to offer guests Cisco's life-like high definition virtual meeting solution. The new telepresence facility, created in conjunction with Tata Communications and Cisco, is currently available in three other Taj hotels in the world - Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, Mumbai; Taj West End, Bangalore; and Taj Boston, Boston.
Cisco® TelePresence delivers advanced, high definition virtual meeting facilities with superior audio, video and environmental qualities to provide, a viable alternative to traditional face-to-face meetings. Meetings are now paperless with documents projected in the centre of the virtual 'boardroom'. The technology improves collaboration for enterprises by bringing colleagues together in one virtual room from across the globe.
The introduction of Cisco TelePresence should provide substantial cost savings for the corporate traveller by reducing the need to travel. It will also accelerate productivity and improve long-distance collaboration and decision-making.
With Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces constantly striving to pioneer and deliver new innovations in technology and services for corporate travellers, the high delivery standard continues as they are the first hotel group to offer telepresence to the public.
