Customer Highlights and Technology Innovation
Cisco's 2008 fiscal year was characterized by the completion of six acquisitions, including Cognio, the market leader in wireless spectrum analysis and management for wireless networks; Latigent, a leading provider of web-based business intelligence and analytics reporting solutions for contact centers; Nuova Systems, focused on the development of next-generation products for the data center market; Securent, a leading provider of policy management software for enterprises; and Navini Networks, a leader in the Mobile WiMAX 802.16e-2005 broadband wireless industry. Also acquired was DiviTech, a leader in the digital-service management market.
Padmasree Warrior was appointed Chief Technology Officer. Warrior will work closely with Cisco's management team and development council to drive innovation and explore new business and technology directions.
Cisco reached the milestone of 100 Cisco TelePresenceTM customers, deploying units in more than 40 countries. Cisco TelePresence is one of the fastest-growing new product categories in the company's history.
Cisco is using internal innovation, investments and acquisitions to support its consumer growth strategy, including the intention to purchase Pure Networks.

Cisco announced an anchor investment in the Almaz Capital / Cisco Fund 1, a venture capital fund that supports technology and communications start-ups in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), initially closing at $60 million.
