Connecting Cities: Achieving Innovation through Sustainability
February 20 - 21, 2008
Cisco and the city and county of San Francisco are hosting the first Connected Urban Development Global Conference in San Francisco. The event will gather a global community of urban, business, research, and civic leaders committed to developing and using innovative solutions that address challenges in urban sustainability. Participants can attend interactive sessions, discuss challenges they face, explore how cities are using information and communications technology to create solutions that help reduce carbon emissions, and establish a working community of collaboration.

The Connected Bus provides transportation information to its passengers through prominent on-bus display of real-time information, including status of connecting lines at key transfer points, allowing riders to reach their destinations more reliably. By enhancing the overall customer experience of using public transportation in San Francisco, The Connected Bus will attract more riders to public transit, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
