Creating 21st Century Schools

10/25/05

Cisco Systems unveiled the 21st Century Schools Program (21S), a multi-phase education initiative directed at school districts in Mississippi and Louisiana that were affected by Hurricane Katrina. The program, which is a blueprint for reconstructing and improving schools, began in these two Gulf states. Together, the Mississippi Education Initiative (MEI) and the Louisiana Education Initiative (LEI) will help build a world-class education system that can be replicated across the country.

A long-time proponent of blending technology and education, Cisco is helping lead a coalition of public, private and non-profit organizations to provide a holistic approach to rebuilding and improving the local schools with a "21st century" educational approach.
