On August 8, 2005, the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (H.R.6.ENR), was signed into law. Section 110 of this Act modified the time change dates for Daylight Saving Time (DST) in the U.S. Beginning in March of 2008, DST will begin on the second Sunday of March and end the first Sunday of November. For 2008 and beyond, the daylight saving time period will be: 2:00 A.M. on the second Sunday in March to 2:00 A.M. on the first Sunday in November.

Various failures have been reported on one (1) specific TAN and PCA version (73-2194-04, 800-02060-04) of the PA-8B-S/T port adaptor. These failures can range from ISDN line protocol failures to a system crash. It has been determined that the field programmable gate array (FPGA) firmware resident on the affected PA-8B-S/T port adaptors has a defect resulting in an invalid PCI cycle. This issue will require replacement of the affected port adaptor for a replacement unit with updated FPGA firmware. PA-8B-S/T FPGA code is not field upgradeable.

In the two known instances of mis-wiring, a reversal of the "live" and "ground" conductors in the appliance plug of the power cord set was found. If a mis-wired power cord set is connected to the power source, the chassis can become "live". Any contact with the chassis after it is connected to the power source could result in an electric shock.

This issue affects specific subset of the PCMCIA ATA Disks and Compact Flash disks that were installed in specific Cisco routers manufactured between May 2005 and October 2006. However, the suspect boards affected on GSR were manufactured between Jan 2006 and Oct 2006. Cards shipped individually as spares over that same time span may also contain one of the affected units. This issue has been linked to a component manufacturing problem. The root cause was identified and appropriate steps taken to resolve the problem. Product impact varies due to different flash memory access methodologies and use patterns. Some products may be able to mitigate the potential effect by re-writing affected memory areas at specific intervals. This feature does not work with all products, so please check the workaround section for availability and specific instructions.

This is caused by a defect in the IBM BIOS and is documented in IBM RETAIN Tip: H182636 The System BIOS for xSeries 206m and xSeries 306m contains the on-board HostRAID BIOS. BIOS version 1.42 and 1.43 were integrated with HostRAID BIOS 2106. The HostRAID BIOS 2106 had a calendar limit flag set for the usage. It was compiled with the calendar flag set in error.

(Cisco ONS 15400 Series) Cisco Field Notice: FN - 62586 - 15454-SA-HD and 15454-SA-HD-DDR Shelf Assemblies Have Incorrect Power Filter Capacitor

The purpose of the filter assembly was to meet Telcordia (GR-1089) EMI requirements. The Telcordia specifications were later changed in 2006, making the capacitor unnecessary. The capacitors were removed from the design with the version -05 shelves which started shipping in October 2006, so the currently shipping shelves are not at risk. Up to 2% of shelves with incorrect capacitors may experience a capacitor failure during the normal life of the shelf. Customers with version -03 and -04 shelves may contact Cisco for a replacement as instructed below. As an alternative to complete shelf replacement, Cisco developed an in-service inspection program to aid in identifying incorrectly built power filter assemblies. Version -03 and -04 shelves may be inspected in the field to determine whether an incorrect capacitor is installed. The inspection is not traffic impacting, but it is strongly recommended that it be conducted during a maintenance window. After shelves in the field are inspected, they are labeled by the inspectors with a sticker, if the capacitor is correct. Please note: As the inspection process is manual and relies on a subjective color assessment to determine capacitor type, it is subject to error. Since the initial offering of the inspection program, there have been a small number of known manual inspection escapes, where incorrectly built power filter assemblies were misidentified as correctly built power filter assemblies, and subsequently failed. Analysis is underway on these errors to see if any further corrective action may be warranted. Given the possibility of escapes in the inspection process, Cisco extends the offer to replacement of any shelf covered by the inspection process at the customer's request. Customers who wish to schedule an inspection may contact Cisco as instructed below.

The 2GB/ 4GB Flash disks shipped between 2nd March, 2009 to 12th May, 2009 can be incorrectly partitioned due to a flash disk duplicator malfunction in manufacturing. The 2GB Flash Disk can be partitioned and formatted as 1GB, which reduces available disk space. Workaround steps are available.
