MPE doesn't accept self signed certificate for TLS enabled MTA , Open CSCsw87431

Symptom:

Email notifications are not working.
Conditions:

Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express upgraded from previous versions to v2.1.1.2

Self-signed certificates
Workaround:

There are 3 possible solutions to this problem:

1. Obtain and install on valid certificate issued by some recognized CA authority
2. Disable SSL/TLS on SMTP/Exchange server
3. Use 2_X_hotfix_01_CSCsw87431.zip to import existing, non-trusted certificate to the list
of trusted certificates in Java keystore
Further Problem Description:

MeetingPlace Express currently doesn't accept self signed certificate that
comes by default on most MTA installation. Disabling TLS avoid the verification
and makes notification works. Alternatively, certificate can be imported to the list
of trusted certificates in java keystore using 2_X_hotfix_01_CSCsw87431.zip.
Workaround:

For systems already affected with this issue (by running old version of SSLUtil), please run following commands (as root) to fix file permissions:

chown breeze:breeze $BREEZE_HOME/custom.ini*
chmod 664 $BREEZE_HOME/custom.ini*

chown root:mpx $MP_WEB_MAIN/conf/server.xml*
chmod 775 $MP_WEB_MAIN/conf/server.xml*

chown -R root:mpx /usr/local/enrollment
chmod -R 770 /usr/local/enrollment

MPE SMTP configuration corrupted after upgrade to 2.1 , Fixed CSCsx52920

Symptom:
After upgrading to 2.1 email notifications are not working anymore, and they are
stuck in the email notification queue.
Also, SMTP config is not accessible anymore from the web admin. When going to System Configuration --> E-Mail Service Administration --> SMTP Server Configuration, getting error:

"Sorry, could not process your request, please try again later!"
Conditions:
Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express 2.1.1.2, after upgrading from v2.x
SMTP server configuration has authentication enabled
Workaround:
1) Check this file, you should see that <primary-smpt-server-password value="XXXXXX" /> is in clear text:

/opt/cisco/meetingplace_express/var/mail/conf/rcms-conf.xml

2) Edit the file, delete the password (leave it blank <primary-smpt-server-password value="" />)
3) Restart MPX services: 'mpx_sys restart'
4) From the web admin --> E-Mail Service Administration --> SMTP Server Configuration add back the password.
5) Verify that now the file rcms-conf.xml has the password encrypted. Notification should now work.
Further Problem Description:
Prior to MPE v2.1, the SMTP server password in the rcms-conf.xml was in clear text. With 2.1 is now encoded.

We have seen occurrences were the password was clear still after the upgrade, which cause to generate this exception in userweb.out logs, prevent to access SMTP page and breaks email notification:

When Flash 10 Installed No option to get plugin From Meeting Room Avail , Fixed CSCsw40713

Symptom:
A client machine has Flash 10 installed but has not installed the presenter plugin. This client then logs into the server and schedules a meeting. When Flash 10 is installed, thgere is not a "share screen" button available. Depressing the "Share screen " button is the trigger that starts the download process normally. End result is that the end user does not have the ability to share. This differs when a client machine has Flash 9 installed.

When Flash 9 is installed the client logs into the server and then schedules a meeting. Once in the meetingroom, the "screen share" button is available, once depressed the download of the plugin begins and then the meetingroom opens again with the sharing options ready for use.
Conditions:

meetings from deleted users remain in system , Fixed CSCsq43223

Symptom:

When a user profile, that had scheduled meetings, is deleted these meetings should be removed as well. From the web GUI, the meetings do not show up under Find. However new meetings scheduled during the dates/times when the old and removed scheduled meetings cannot reserve audio ports originally reserved or use the same meeting ID.
Conditions:

User profile was created on meetingplace express server as an end user. This user then scheduled a reoccurring meeting reserving most of their audio ports. Under the admin account on the GUI, the user profile was deleted. Also under the GUI, the admin chose Find and searched for the meetings by date. The meetings no longer showed up. The user profile was created again and he could also not see any meetings that the deleted user could see. However no one was able to schedule a meeting during those times when reserving most of their audio ports getting an error message saying "Insufficient licenses are available. Try using a different date, time, duration or participant count."

Logged in as mpxadmin into the CLI of the machine, the mtginfo -a command displayed the meeting scheduled for the deleted user.
Workaround:

Log in as mpxadmin and use mtginfo to get the unique meeting ID of the meeting(s) to be deleted. use the CSTest tool. Select option 2, then 2, and then 2 again to delete scheduled meetings. Type in the unique meeting ID and hit enter. This should delete the meeting and free up its reserved ports and meeting ID.
Symptom:

Symptom:

After applying a license to MeetingPlace Express on an earlier version and then upgrade to 2.1.1.2, you cannot use the Install Licenses web page to append an incremental license file.

This results in an error "Error writing license file".

The Install License from the web gui ran as root resulting in the license file not having permissions for mpxadmin to be able to write. This tool runs as mpxadmin in 2.1 causing this error.
Conditions:

Install license in 2.0.3 or previous, then upgrade to 2.1.1.2. Then attempt to append incremental license file.

Symptom:
Mtgs cannot be found but are hidden on system after a profile deletion.

Steps to reproduce:

Create a profile on the MPE system.

Use the newly created profile to scehdule meetings.

Delete the profile that scheduled those meetings.

The profile will be deleted and those meetings scheduled by that user cannot be found using the Find meeting feature, however the meeting will still exist on the MP Express Server. This is verified by running a meeting information export and these meetings can be attended as well. To remove these meetings, one will have to import/cancel these meetings.

Either delete these meetings entirely when a profile is deleted or allow them to be found via GUI and deleted by an Admin.
Conditions:
When a profile is deleted.
Workaround:
Look up the meetings in the raw meeting report exported from the system.

Symptom:

Communication with the SMTP server is always done through TLS (if enabled on the SMTP server). It is best to have this configurable from the Admin web pages, maybe the customer does not want to use TLS or is having some problems with the certs.

MeetingPlace Express Exchange Configuration Properly Configured - Fails , Fixed CSCsm42684

Symptom:

Error indicating Authentication Failure when clicking the 'Test' button.

There are several different error messages:

1) 'Authentication error. Check the authenticated access to the Exchange Server
for NTLM authentication scheme.'

2) 'Access error. Check the access control to the Exchange Server and ensure
that SSL is enabled for the Exchange Server.'

The traces may indicate a '404' or '503' error when attempting the test.
Conditions:

Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express 2.0(2), 2.0(3)

Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 with NTLM Authentication enabled
Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 with NTLM Authentication enabled
Workaround:

Please ensure a new user account on Exchange for use with MeetingPlace Express
for Exchange Configuration, with the following conditions met:

1) Ensure the alias is the same as the Actual user name, and does not use any
non-alpha characters. For instance Joe User Alias JoeUser instead of
something like, Joe User Alias MPEAcct. Avoid 'joe-user' or 'joe.user' as the
user alias, and 'joe.user@yourdomain.com' or 'joe-user@yourdomain.com' as email
addresses.

2) Please ensure that the user account has been logged into Exchange.
Configure Outlook Express or Outlook somewhere and log into that account at
least once.

Problem Symptom

Cannot access Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express web page after performing an
upgrade.
Conditions

  - Upgrading from Cisco Unified MeetingPlace v2.0(2.126), v2.0(3.35)

  - SSL feature enabled

  - SMA-2S deployment model
Workaround

  - disable SSL feature

Additional Information

The following resoution steps need to be followed to restore SSL feature, and
requires an additional script available through Cisco TAC.

i) disable the SMA from the primary (internal) admin page

ii) transfer or create the breeze password reset script (breeze_sma_reset.sh)
to the secondary (external) server's /tmp directory (via ftp, scp, copy &
paste, or other method)

iii) Make sure the lines of this script are in Linux LF format and not DOS
CR/LF format. If conversion from DOS to Linux format is required:

  cat /tmp/breeze_sma_reset.sh | dos2unix > /tmp/breeze_sma_reset.sh.tmp
  mv /tmp/breeze_sma_reset.sh.tmp /tmp/breeze_sma_reset.sh

iv) On secondary server: Switch to root user.

   v) On secondary server: Make sure the script is "runable"

  (chmod 755 /tmp/breeze_sma_reset.sh)

vi) On secondary server: Run the script (/tmp/breeze_sma_reset.sh)

vii) run the breeze_sma_reset.sh on the secondary server

viii) restart the services on secondary server

      > service mpx_tomcat restart
      > service breeze restart

ix) restart the services on the primary server

      > service mpx_tomcat restart
      > service breeze restart

   x) On the primary server's SMA admin page, enable the SMA ...

Run test meetings on SMA server to verify the SMA to primary server connection
is working.
