Tara Seracka

SVP, Legal & Deputy General Counsel

Tara Seracka is Senior Vice President, Legal & Deputy General Counsel for Cisco Systems, Inc. In this role, Seracka leads the Product Legal team responsible for supporting all Cisco Engineering teams across intellectual property, data privacy and security, go to market, product development, and market access matters. Prior to leading the Product Legal team, Seracka led the Enterprise Networking & Cloud Legal team and was General Counsel of Meraki (acquired by Cisco).

Before joining Meraki in 2015, Seracka worked in private practice as a finance and technology attorney at the international law firms of Orrick and Perkins Coie.  Seracka began her firm practice with a focus on debt and equity finance matters representing borrowers and lenders in large scale credit facilities and private equity transactions and then moved into representing emerging technology companies and venture investors. She has worked with a variety of clients, including early-stage startups and publicly traded companies across all stages of the company lifecycle. 

Seracka serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank and currently chairs the Food Bank’s Development Committee. Seracka also co-founded Persistent Ventures, a small scale consulting firm, through which she advises women and minority founded businesses.

Seracka attended Santa Clara University, studying business and art history, and earned her law degree from Boston College Law School. Seracka holds a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
